Diagnosed with Relapsing and Remitting Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 28, I am now 2 years into my journey with MS and about to embark on my biggest adventure yet!
On September 11, 2017 I began treatment of Non-Myleoblative Hematopoietic Stem cell Transfusion in Monterrey, Mexico. This treatment has shown a success rate of over 80% to not only stop disease progression, but reverse damage when done early enough.
I’m one of the lucky ones who discovered and acted on this treatment early on before MS destroyed too much of my body. Disability is rated on a scale of 0-10, 0 being no disability and 10 being dead. I am at a 1 on bad days and by bad days are completely effected by heat. When I get too warm or too stressed, my vision gets blurry and my balance gets off. I could be like this for the rest of my life or I could wake up tomorrow and not be able to walk or speak. MS is a terrifyingly unpredictable progressive disease and I made the decision to do whatever I could to stop this crazy train I’ve found myself on.
I’m Alison, and someday I will say that I used to have MS.
