First Day of Chemo//Update//Video

Greetings from beautiful Monterrey, Mexico! I made it through my first dose of chemo today! I detail the day a bit in the video but so far all I’m really feeling is tiredness. Like the can’t keep your eyes open tiredness. After chemo most of us went to do some grocery shopping down the road at a store called HEB. I ended up being pushed in a wheelchair by my carer Gaby because I was feeling quite weak and tired. I actually fell asleep in the check out lane for a second and knew that when we got back to the apartment I would need to listen to my body and get some rest. After a little nap I woke up to the smell of spaghetti dinner cooking. Yumm! After we ate I planned to FaceTime my mom and Dave and Evie (husband and 4 year old daughter back in Michigan, for those of you who don’t know) and then I was going to go to bed for the night. That was 4 hours ago and I’m just now laying down for the night.

Tomorrow is another chemo day and then the Filgrastim shots begin.

Here’s the video I shared on my Facebook page.

Until tomorrow! Adiós

PS I will try to rotate the video tomorrow while I’m in my chemo room.

  1. Hi Alison, wishing you all the best with the treatment. I just arrived in Toronto on Aug.10th, from Monterey. My treatment went well, I’m just doing a lot of resting, feeling tired and still weak, but Im sure that with time it will pass. Again good luck💞
