Day -9//is it hot in here or is it just me?

Today started with Dr Lesly coming in and giving me my morning Filgrastim injection and checking out my throat because it started feeling sore last night. Gaby kept an eye on my temperature and we decided to take some Tylenol and see if that takes care of it. If not, I’ll get on some antibiotics to kick the sickness before my immune system can’t fight anything off.

After the shot, we went with 2 other patients and their carers to a mall to walk around in the air conditioning. I honestly felt like a menopausal woman going through hot flashes. Nobody else seemed bothered by the heat but I was literally dripping in sweat. Could be from the steroids or chemo or more likely just my Michigan body not being used to this hot weather. Probably a good mix of everything listed there.

I had some nice chats with family back home after I took a much needed nap and it just feels so good to be able to see my loved ones’ faces and see that everyone is getting along just fine without me there.

Tomorrow is Mexico’s Independence Day so after my morning shot I think I’m going to just chill at the apartment for the rest of the day and take it easy. Maybe I’ll watch the parades and fireworks on tv. I need to listen to my body and rest and take it slow. I was telling Gaby that I can’t remember the last time I was constantly this tired and for no reason. She reminded me that chemo is a big reason and that it might not feel like it, but my body is fighting itself right now. I’ve spent most of my time here in Mexico in bed sleeping. I’m not a very fun roommate!!

Here is a walk through video of our apartment. All apartments are similar but have different decor and furniture.

  1. You are stronger than you think. Compare it to demolishing an old house with just a sledge hammer. Yea so you are working even in your sleep. For you maybe the treatment includes more rest no two people are the same. Nap on and enjoy the ride. The apartment really is nice and views so different from home. Beautiful
