Adios, MS and adios, hair!!

What an amazing and emotional day it has been so far!! This is truly a day I will never forget. My stem cell transplant went amazing and I had a nice chat with Dr. Gomez, the head honcho over here in Monterrey. He did the honors of removing my pics line and man does it feel great to have that freedom.

Speaking of freedom, as soon as we got back to the apartment after a nice little birthday celebration at the clinic, the 3 of us patients in the North tower and our carers met up on the rooftop terrace to shave my head! I didn’t even cry! It feels amazing and freeing and super cool. Not like awesome cool, like breezy cool. Okay and awesome cool, too.

So far I’m really happy with this decision to shave my head before the hair started falling out on its own. It feels liberating and this whole month is completely out of my control and this was one thing that was in my control and it felt empowering to say, “Yes. Lets shave my hair. I am ready!”
