Day +91//3 month update!

I’m officially at my first big benchmark today! In Mexico the doctors said to wait 3 months to go in crowded places. Last week I started doing preschool drop off again and it was awesome! I’ve so missed my “preschool mom friends” and it was great seeing everyone again. In January we will have to get back in the habit of going to church again!

So far the hardest part of recovery is staying healthy. I came down with my 2nd cold earlier this month and ended up in the ER because my temperature was 101.5f. Luckily by the time I got to the hospital I was down to 99.8 and after a ton of blood tests they sent me home. All of the lab work came back clear so I didn’t have to worry about a blood infection or anything causing the fever. I’ve been trying to be very aware of what I’m touching and making sure I wash my hands and sanitize a lot but with a 4 year old in the house and winter weather, getting colds seems to be inevitable.

It’s been so cool talking with people who are waiting for treatment or still contemplating on taking the leap of faith. I feel like a pioneer guiding people to HSCT. I love that I’m able to share my personal experience and story and I’m so looking forward to seeing these new friends take this next step in their lives.

My hair is growing back quickly and last week I discovered that I can push my hair to the side and it doesn’t stick straight up. Now I’m proudly rocking a “comb over” and I’m excited to see what color it ends up being. The first picture is my hair fresh out of the shower and the second one is with my hair “styled” 🙂Fresh out of the showerComb over
